One of Albert's best loved paintings - evoking the vibrancy and excitement around the Hackney Empire in the post war era. Built as a music hall in 1901 the Hackney Empire welcomed guests such as Charlie Chaplin, WC Fields and Stan Laurel in its heyday. For Albert the building held a particular meaning as it is where he first met his wife Sally in 1921.
